DESCRIPTION:The Galesburg Sanitary District will host two public hearings on Tuesday\, February 11\, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.\, in the City of Galesburg’s Council Chambers\, 55 West Tompkins Street\, Galesburg Illinois. The purpose of these public hearings is to receive public comments on a Project Plan prepared by the Galesburg Sanitary District and a Preliminary Environmental Impacts Determination (PEID) issued by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. These documents refer to a plan to upgrade the District’s existing wastewater treatment plant\, necessary to meet National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit limits. The Project Summary and PEID will be on display at the Galesburg Sanitary District office\, 2700 West Main Street\, Galesburg Illinois\, between publication of this notice and the public hearing\, and also at the public hearing. It is the intention of the District to obtain a low interest loan from the Illinois EPA’s Revolving Loan Fund with which to fund construction of the proposed improvements. This notice and the public hearing are required by 35 Illinois Administrative Code Chapter II\, Sec. 365.330. At the hearing\, and for a period of 10 days after the hearing\, comments will be accepted on the proposed Plan and PEID by the Galesburg Sanitary District Clerk\, 2700 West Main Street\, Galesburg Illinois. Comments may also be directed to Jasmine Mallory\, Project Manager\, IEPA-IFAS Bureau of Water\, 1021 North Grand Avenue East\, P.O. Box 19276\, Springfield IL 62794-9276. A transcript of the hearing and an accurate summary of all subsequent comments will be submitted to IEPA for their consideration and further action.
