Employment Application
July 1st, 2023 will be known as “Flush Smart Day,” signifying the day new legislation will go into effect regarding proper labeling for wipes that are not allowed to be flushed. The Wipes Labeling Act will now require manufacturers of household disposable wipes for sale in the state of Illinois to clearly label “Do Not Flush” on wipes that should not be flushed down the toilet. By reducing the amount of non-flushable wipes in our sewer system, our community can reduce the havoc these wipes cause on our sewer infrastructure, in turn reducing the costs required to maintain the system.
The Following links will provide further information on what can and cannot be flushed, and the impact it has on the sewer system when these wipes are correctly disposed of.
